Continued Journey...

Every day I spasm. Every day all day long I have some dystonia in my toes or spasms in my trunk.

I am learning more and more about FND. It is complex.

I have a team of doctors at Mayo who have provided insightful data and reviews of my diagnosis.

Dr Alberto J. Espay is a Parkinsons Specialist at UC who is treating me locally. In researching. I found a great article written by him and several other physicians from the UK and Dr from Louisville, KY.

The article was written in 2018 and shares the cutting technology and information on FND.

I continue to increase my body movement. Every day I aim for some type of doable physical activity for 30 minutes.

I use a restorator, which is a seated elliptical. I swim if water is warm. I do yoga stretches.

Most importantly I go to physical therapy twice per week. I am gaining strength. My PT is amazing and a dear friend. I highly recommend Elizabeth Neltner Guidi. Contact me if you would like to start physical therapy and need a great, knowledgeable resource.

Despite eating lean/green, drinking 164 oz. water, attending talk therapy, and increased activity daily; FND is relentless.

I'm fighting it every day.

My Husband, son, my Mom and Step Dad, In Laws, and Uncle Marty are some of my biggest supporters. My friends are amazing. They are like sisters to me. I'm so blessed to be so supported.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill, When the funds are low but the debts are high, And you want to smile but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit… Rest if you must, but don’t you quit! Life is queer with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns, And many failures turn about When we might have won had we stuck it out. Don’t give up though the pace seems slow… You may succeed with another blow.

Often the struggler has given up When he might have captured the victor’s cup; And he learned too late when the night came down, How close he was to the golden crown. Success is failure turned inside out… And you can never tell how close you are It may be near when it seems so far. So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit. (Edgar A. Guest)
